Workshop on Future Electricity Grids and Energy Markets with Decarbonization

April 22, 2025

This January, ORFE faculty and students participated in the inaugural NYU-Princeton Workshop on Future Electricity Grids and Energy Markets with Decarbonization, held at NYU Tandon School in Brooklyn, and co -organized by ORFE Professor Ronnie Sircar and NYU Professor Nizar Touzi. The aim of the workshop was to bring together academics and practitioners in France and the US to discuss modern and future electricity production as grids transition to majority renewables and nuclear energy sources for purposes of decarbonization.

This two-day workshop hosted 17 speakers and three panels with funding from an ARPA-E grant at Princeton, NYU department of Financial Risk Engineering, and Electricite de France (EDF). The organization for next year’s workshop, to be held in Paris, has already begun.
