Professor Amir Ali Ahmadi gave a plenary talk at the Colombian Conference on Applied and Industrial Mathematics in Medellin. This event is held every two years and focuses on applications of mathematics to other areas of science and to engineering problems in the public and private sectors. Professor Ahmadi's talk, titled "Learning Dynamical Systems with Side Information or Safety Constraints", covered two recent research papers. The first was joint work with former ORFE PhD student Bachir El Khadir (now at Two Sigma), and the second was on ongoing work with current ORFE PhD student Abraar Chaudhry, and with Vikas Sindhwani and Stephen Tu from Google Brain Robotics.
