Yuling Yan has received the Charlotte Elizabeth Procter Fellowship from the Princeton University Graduate School for the 2022-23 academic year. This honorific fellowship which recognizes outstanding performance and professional promise, was established in 1912 in memory of Charlotte Elizabeth Procter.

Yuling, advised by ORFE Professor Jianqing Fan and Professor Yuxin Chen, focuses his research on high dimensional statistics, nonconvex optimization, reinforcement learning, and optimal transport. Professor Fan says that Yuling makes remarkable contributions in noisy matrix completion, uncertainty quantification, and high dimensional inference and "is the epitome of a Princeton honorific fellow".
