Professor Misha Shkolnikov wins the SEAS Spring Innovation Award

April 11, 2018

Professor Shkolnikov has won the SEAS Spring Innovation Award for his proposal entitled “Particle models of neural synchronization”. The proposed research “will address the mathematical modeling of neural synchronization”. While neuroscientists are researching the connections between neural synchronization and arousal, attentional selection, perceptual integration, and working memory among others, the main goal of this project is to “quantify the relationship between the geometry of the neural network and the synchronization of neurons involved”.
