Professor Amir Ali Ahmadi has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, effective February 1, 2016. The title of his project is "Polynomial Optimization and Dynamical Systems." Professor Ahmadi aims to develop efficient, convex optimization-based algorithms for polynomial optimization problems, with an emphasis on applications to analysis of uncertain and nonlinear dynamical systems. His project also has a strong educational component which focuses on undergraduate teaching in optimization. The CAREER Award is the most prestigious award from the NSF in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
