Amir Ali Ahmadi, Assistant Professor, comes to ORFE from the IBM Watson Research Center which he was a Herman Goldstine Fellow in the Department of Business Analytics and Mathematical Sciences. Amirali received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests are broadly in optimization and systems theory with an emphasis on algorithms and efficient computation. 

Samory Koptufe, Assistant Professor, comes to ORFE from the Toyota Technological Institute in Chicago where he is an Assistant Research Professor. He was also a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego. Samory's research interests are in machine learning, with an emphasis on nonparametric methods and high-dimensional statistics.
