Jamol Pender wins INFORMS Student Contest

Jamol Pender, fourth year graduate student in the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE), has won the New Jersey Chapter of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) Student Contest for 2011. Jamol's research presentation, “Skewness-Variance Approximation for Dynamic Rate Multi-Server Queues with Abandonment”, was judged by a panel assembled at the chapter's September meeting and assessed on the criteria of quality, originality, and applicability to real-world problems.
