Associate Professor Position

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at University of Copenhagen has an open position as Associate Professor in Operations Research. All OR related research areas are welcome, but preference will be given to experts on optimization under uncertainty and/or applications to energy.

With a new staff member, the OR staff at the department consists of two Associate Professors and some PhD students. The position involves freedom of research within the academic field of employment and a significant influence on the design and development of the bachelor and master courses in OR offered at the department. The OR staff members are part of the department’s Section for Insurance and Economics. This section is oriented towards applications of mathematics to insurance and economics and share research interests in optimization under uncertainty. The OR group also maintains close collaboration with other OR groups in Denmark.

Research Position

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly motivated individual to carry out research in applying Operations Research techniques and Data Analytics to cancer research. The successful candidate will be responsible for research development and integration with clinical systems for clinical translation.

Qualifications and Skills

Ph.D. in industrial engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, electrical and computer engineering, or related field. Successful applicants must be highly motivated and must have strong programming/scripting (C/C++/C#, Python, Matlab, etc.) skills. Strong background in solving large-scale optimization problems and knowledge in data analytics is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.

Training

This is a two to three year, full-time, mentored research position. The successful candidate will receive regular mentorship and evaluation, be trained and encouraged to disseminate research findings in major national conferences and peer-reviewed publications, and to seek extramural research funding.

The Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory seeks well-prepared candidates for postdoctoral fellow positions in nonlinear optimization algorithms.

The Econometric Institute (part of the Erasmus School of Economics) has a strong research tradition in Econometrics & Operations Research (OR). Assistant Professor (tenure-track) Position

The Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for an anticipated tenure track or tenured position in Business Analytics. Lecturer Position

The Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University seeks to appoint a full time Lecturer beginning September 1, 2017. The position is for one year, renewable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to advise senior theses.

We are looking for someone who will demonstrate excellence in the classroom. While the main thrust of the ORFE classes are in probability, statistics, optimization and financial engineering, the current teaching needs are mostly in statistics and financial engineering, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach in these areas first. Although not required, a track record of peer-reviewed publications in any of the fields covered by ORFE is considered a plus.

Outstanding applicants at assistant, associate and professor levels will be considered.
