Monday, 19 May 2008
The ORFE department would like to issue its congratulations and sincerest wishes to graduate Huseyin Topaloglu, who was recently granted tenure at Cornell University in the department of Operations Research and Information Engineering.  Huseyin completed his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University in 1999 and 2001 studying under Professor Warren Powell.  His dissertation, Dynamic Programming Approximations for Dynamic Resource Allocation Problems, laid the groundwork for future specialization with stochastic optimization problems at Cornell.  Since his time at Princeton, Huseyin has also continued to collaborate with Prof. Powell and co-author a number of papers on the topic of approximate dynamic programming.
