Welcome to The Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE), part of the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) at Princeton University.  ORFE is engineering for business, commerce, and industry. Students in the Department of Operations Research & Financial Engineering are both engineering innovators and entrepreneurs. They acquire the skills that they need to become leaders in such fields as finance, information technology, management consulting, insurance, and operations planning. Researchers in ORFE develop the tools that are necessary to make better decisions, to improve the performance of complex systems, and to manage resources efficiently.
